Highly rising sea levels have caused many hardships for the wild. It has lead to a loss of habitats for some species. Whilst to others, it has placed them into extreme changing conditions, where they have to keep struggling in order to survive. Many are finding it impossible to adapt to. 

Even the increasing hotness causing draughts in many areas where animals live has had a great impact on their very survival. Forest fires have also been fueled by the high temperatures, which kills a large number of animals in excruciating ways. 

Researchers suggest that even small changes in temperature are enough to threaten hundreds of already struggling animals. So, what this means is that the world is indeed in the verge of witnessing a significant number of wildlife being wiped away. This tells us that a lot of the wild animals that we once would see on our TVs will cease to exist if nothing is done to reduce global warming. 

An example, is that of turtles. Rising sea levels have destroyed or swept away nesting beaches. The genders of turtles are determined by temperature so rising temperature would mean that there would be an imbalance of male and female turtles.

Shifting life cycles is another cause of global warming. Global warming has lead to a shift in the timing of the various cyclical events in the lives of animals. The routines of some species have had a change, for example, hibernating animals (arctic ground squirrel, dormouse etc.) are ending their slumbers earlier each year. These shifting life cycles are ruining the ecological communities in ways that are causing dissimilarities between species, when in the same habitat. It is against the natural system.

Since 2009, countries such as Kenya suffered severe droughts due to the rising temperatures and inadequate rainfall. A large number of crops could not be produced anymore hence causing farmers to have lower harvest. This meant that they could no longer feed their families and fulfill their other commitments. Due to these rising distresses, many farmers have begun to poach rhinos for horn in order to sell them to survive and continue feeding their families.

So, there is a severe need to stop global warming or else we will allow the wild to land to their very endangered status and eventually extinction.
